In the absence of the customer’s written specification regarding steel grades and subgrades for structural steels, we will quote on S355JR as a minimum for all beams and columns, S235JR for hollow section and S275JR as a minimum for all other structural steel.
Unless you advise us in writing at the time of order that these goods will be used in structural steelwork, the steel grade and traceability may not be provided where the goods supplied are from offcuts. Under no circumstances should these goods be used for “structural steelwork” as defined by BS EN 1090-1.
