Seamless tube has no weld and whilst generally more expensive than welded tube, it does have several benefits including higher tensile strengths, increased corrosion resistance and a greater resistance to pressure when compared with welded tube.

It is used in applications that have critical strength requirements and is available in a hot or cold finish. Hot finished seamless is suited for use in mechanical, structural and pressure applications, whilst cold formed seamless is suited for mechanical and precision applications.
